| Jabba's Comments |
John Faulkner impressed Don Revie when he appeared for the opposition as
Leeds thrashed Sutton United 6-0 in the FA Cup, despite the fact that he
was one of the defenders! He scored an OG on his debut against Burnley
(Leeds still won), broke his kneecap in his next game, and when he finally
returned it was to appear in the both legs of the 1st round of the UEFA Cup
when Leeds went out to Norwegian side Lierse.
It wasn't too surprising to see him move on after such an inauspicious
start, but he became a central figure in the Luton side that won promotion
to the top flight and subsequently had a spell in the NASL before returning
to coach Luton in the mid-1980s.
