Versatile midfielder who was signed by Billy Bremner and was an
effective defensive player in a unit than needed to feed the skills
of John Sheridan. With the likes of David Batty and Gary Speed
coming on, and with Vinnie Jones signed up, Wilko didn't see the
need to hang on to him, and he was released in summer 1989. He
might not have had the most stellar career, but he continued to
give solid service to a number of clubs, and his 3 years at
Coventry showed that he could have done a reasonable job for
Leeds in the Premiership.

Dave Clark says: IIRC he mostly played centre-back under Revie,
next to Brendan Ormsby at first. Maybe a bit lightweight, but a hard
worker. I think he played in our Cup semi (at centreback again).
