Jabba's Comments

Didn't lived up to our initial hopes, and at 28 years old it's hard to see him now making that step up. Tries hard and does his best, but fluffed several easy chances when he was at Leeds and didn't really seem to have the striker's instinct.

He moved on to Huddersfield in summer 1999 where he has been an outstanding success in the slightly less demanding environment of Division 1. A broken arm and other serious injuries sustained in a car accident in 2000 kept him out for most of the rest of that season and although he came back into the Huddersfield side he was sold to help set the club's finances on an even keel in the run-up to deadline day in 2002.

He scored three good goals in his short stint at Preston but having failed to agree terms with the club went round several other clubs on trial - Barnsley, Galatasaray and Oldham where he is played on a non-contract basis. He joined up with SC Beira Mar in the Portuguese league on 7 August 2003.

Simon Bryant says: He seemed like a great guy, with an unfortunate history, including a nasty run in with a crash barrier on the M62! I personally witnessed the accident, and as a die hard huddersfield town fan, i'd have to say it was a sad day for me. Since that day we forged a great relationship, still in touch with him, and I can say with a smile, he's doing fine. Things are looking good in oldham. He's destined for great things, this is a guy to look for in the future.

Mark Ogden says: Best player ever to grace the second division!! Just comming back from injury and will help Oldham to move up to division One and then the Premiership. Watch out Leeds Utd were coming to get you!!!

Stewart Bingham says: Hey Ogden, Oi! Good stuff you say. Really is a top class player, second division lucky to have him.

jak o'dea says: i bought a motor of clyde wijnhard and i got ten minutes down the road and the bas***d broke down i am still owed money for this and it is about six hundred pound.i could never get in touch with him after thyis and if you could get in touch with him please tell him to e-mail me, jak o'dea.

virgil wijnhard says: clyde wijnhard is my nephew he's a great soccer player and he's the best of the best clyde i gonna call you one of these days

Craig says: When he was here at Preston I personally thought that, although he scored 3 goals - and they were good goals, he wasn't cut out for the first division. He certainly isn't now that teams like West Ham and Sunderland are competing.

Gabriel says: Clyde is playing for Beira Mar in Portugal and is doing well. He has scored some big goals against quality opposition. Seems to be a crowd favourite. Leeds the team in goals.

Simon says: I met Clyde when he was at Oldham, my son had a picture taken with him and this he says is the best day of his life. He's a gereat guy and I wish him well in Portugal. He is a class striker.

Ivar says: I'm a SC Beira-Mar portuguese fan and I'm very happy for having Clyde Wijnhard playing here in Aveiro. He seems to be a very nice person, and always does his best in the field. I just do not understand why doesn't he have a team in England, where everybody wants to play...

josh 19 says: I met him after he played for OLDHAM he was the best and he is my insperation he is.. my hero.

Karen and Trevor Daniels say: We met Clyde on holiday in the Maldives and didn't know who is was but thought he was a really nice guy and his girlfriend was lovely too. We didn't get the chance to say goodbye to them. We would like to wish Clyde all the best for the future.

Tim Barton says: clyde came to my house one day never expected it. it was the best day ever hope to meet him again .Tim
