Billy Heaton was a local lad who served Leeds before and after the second
world war. Having been a regular in the number 11 shirt in Leeds' disastrous
relegation season and stayed for a further year in Division 2, he moved on to
play for short spells at Southampton and Rochdale. He died in 1990.
